About our gallery: The Turquoise Art Studio and Gallery, located in the center of Mykonos town, features unique artistic creations made exclusively with natural materials.
Incorporating handmade glazed ceramic tiles with wood, seashells and sand, we design and create a variety of frames, decorative panels, mosaics, unique pottery and sculpture. Also included in our collection is a range of pendent jewelry, lamps, lampshades and tables to name a few.
In addition to our available pieces, we are able to personalize our creations by adjusting shape, color and size to match the specific needs of our customers.
About us: Born in Athens, Greece, Androniki Kapodistria after graduating high school entered the University of Athens to begin her studies in Political Science.
When her father was assigned the post of Military Attaché to the Greek Embassy in Algiers, she decided to follow him to this North African nation in 1987.
During her stay there, Androniki visited different regions of the country for long periods of time. Getting in touch with the local culture, she found herself particularly captivated with their traditional art of ceramics.
Together with her husband, Loris Garattoni, in 1993 she began an extensive trip into the sub-Saharan region. While experiencing the area’s natural colors, rhythms and local customs she became aware of new feelings and sentiments that would eventually characterize themselves in her earliest works of art.
In the same year, and after having received her Political Science degree, Androniki gave in to her creative feelings toward the art of ceramics and moved to Italy. It was here that she attended lessons and eventually opened her first workshop.
Paralleling Androniki’s work, her husband Loris, also artistically inclined, involved himself with creating objects from wood and other natural materials. For some years he had developed this talent producing woodcarvings, decorative panels and frames.
During the years in Italy a full-time collaboration between the two artists developed and in 2001 a decision was made to move to Greece and open their own art studio and gallery.
Through hard work, determination and love of art the "Turquoise Art Studio & Gallery" was born, forming a perfect harmony of combined talents.
